Bachmeyer Press
Bachmeyer Press is a storytelling studio that supports rising leaders and allies working to interrupt harmful cultural narratives by telling stories that celebrate change. The founder, Katie Bachmeyer, realized that her existing brand and website just didn’t reflect the mission, values, or work that Bachmeyer Press held anymore, so she came to me ready for a redesign!
Deliverables:
Mood Board Collaboration
Brand Refresh
Color Palette Development
Website Content Strategy
Custom Website Graphics and Assets
Branding Style Guide
Squarespace Web Design
Katie still loved her logo variations (especially the motif of the four dots within the B and the P), so with that foundation already in place, we began with a color palette exploration after I conducted extensive research on her industry, audience, and competition.
We decided to move forward with a sleek, monochrome palette featuring a bold raspberry accent color. The goal with the color palette was to create a canvas through which her clients stories could come through while still evoking a sense of energy, novelty, and courage that comes with encouraging others to share their story with the world!
Next we moved on to a mood board exploration to help hone in on a new visual aesthetic for the brand. This mood board phase also entailed presenting wireframes for the new home page. I was so excited when Katie selected this modular layout that felt bold, engaging, and creative!
We really wanted to build a website that told a story and drew people further into learning more about the stories of Katie’s past clients and the process through which she tells them. So we utilized bold color blocks, split screen layouts, vivid imagery, and hover effects to guide visitors through the site and create a fun and intuitive user experience.
Katie and I are thrilled with how the website turned out and can’t wait to watch it grow and evolve as she has more stories to share! Check out the site here to see what we built and to learn more about how you can work with Bachmeyer Press.
